When activated, the HYGROSCOPIC SALT FLARE generates hygroscopic particles. Integrated in the LAICO system, it uses a free balloon inflated with helium as vector. These water-hungry particles grow by condensing water vapor when dispersed under the regenerating zones of convective clouds. Aspirated in the ascending flow, they will collide with the smaller natural droplets, thus accelerating the precipitation phase of the treated area and lowering the center of gravity of the cloud.
